Hello and Welcome to the first episode of the new podcast “Free Adobe Flash Tutorials” my name is Bryan Williams and I will be your host.

Last year I was introduced the to the program Flash. Owned then by Macromedia, Flash recently has become a part of the popular and powerful creative suit 3.

As I learned the program I ran into a major obstacle: it's difficult to learn without a teacher. It's not a program you can just jump in and learn quickly like Microsoft's Word or Paintbrush. Even if you are relatively familiar with Adobe's layout and style, many attributes are unique to Flash and an be very frustrating if you are trying to learn without help.

I went to the internet for help but found that equally frustrating. Tutorials were first difficult to find, rarely comprehensive, hard to follow, and usually assume you already know a lot about the program. There may be some good tutorials already out there but chances are you will pay a lot of money for them. There are a few sites that have been really helpful to me and I'll make sure to get those links up and to you.

These video blog/ podcast tutorials are meant to be a solution to the problems I ran into. They will be simple, informative, and comprehensive. They will be step-by-step guides to understanding Flash through practical examples and exercises.

Frame-by-frame animation, layers, masks, interactivity, video components, and actionscript are some of the main topics I will be covering soon.

Podcasting and blogging are excellent tutorial methods; first off because they are completely free, you can watch them as much as you like and whenever you like. Don't waist hundreds of dollars on tutorials or months in introductory classes. Learn the secrets to unlock web-multimedia here and develop skills that could make you a more marketable employee. Subscribe to my podcast and get a new lesson every week.

I am by no means a Flash guru. I'm learning right along with you. That can be a good or a bad thing. Bad because I don't know everything about it and I can't answer all your questions (there are some good Flash forums out there who can, I can at least get you to those). The good thing about that is that I understand what it is like to learn from scratch and can provide a perspective to learning that can't be found in other free tutorials.

If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear from you.

Thank you very much for listening/reading and I hope you enjoy the upcoming tutorials.
